Scranton, pa is known as the electric city and is one of the most highly populated and largest cities in NEPA. Andseldon Scranton who founded the operation that became the Lackawanna iron and coal company in 1840. Dallas, PA is a borough located in Luzerne County in Northeastern Pennsylvania. The borough has a rich history, dating back to 1807 when it was established by a law signed by Thomas McKean, the second Governor of Pennsylvania. The borough was named after Alexander J. Dallas, a well-known statesman and lawyer from Philadelphia.

Dallas’s history has been shaped largely by its location. It was created to meet the needs of travelers, who crossed the Susquehanna River (the northern border of Luzerne County) through the valley. Dallas became the center for various services for travelers, including lodging and ferry services. The borough was also the center of sawmill and coal mining operations, which helped to power the industry of the region.

Throughout its history, Dallas has been characterized by its strong sense of community. Pleasant Street was a hub of activity during the early 20th century, with stores, restaurants, churches, schools and other establishments that reflected the many cultures of the area. The Misericordia University is one of the most prominent landmarks in Dallas. Founded by the Sisters of Mercy in 1924, it has become a reputable institution of higher learning. In addition, Hess's Park, which is a historical park that features a replica of a Civil War-era railroad station, is located in Dallas.

Each year, Dallas hosts the Greater Pittston Tomato Festival, which celebrates the area's long-time tradition of growing tomatoes. The festival showcases food, music and vendors, as well as a parade down Main Street. The festival is one of the longest running annual events in the area.

Dallas is located near some of the most picturesque places in Pennsylvania. Forty Fort Park, Harveys Lake and nearby parks feature breathtaking scenery that visitors find alluring.
